wire plus wood

Ok - I know it’s been a while since I posted. I didn’t really have anything to post, believe it or not. But, I did spend a little time making this gift for someone (who hopefully isn’t reading this). I think turned out rather well (wire can be fussy!).

I used 16 gauge galvanized wire and a little block of painted wood. I designed it this particular way - with the loops all around the outside and the spiral in the middle, for two reasons… Drop (wire back) style earrings can be hung on the outer loops and photos and cards can be held by the loops as well as by the spiral.

Coming up… we made salt dough ornaments with the kids. It was a lot of fun and surprisingly easy. I’ll post soon about that.

Question: Do you get stressed or do you go with the flow?

I think it’s rather funny that many people see me as the type to go with the flow. I see myself completely opposite. My back is often tense and I tend to worry an awful lot. And, I do stress when I have too much to do. But, like everyone, I do my best to get through it.

I love the wire decoration!!! Man, if I only had an ounce of your creativity, life would be that much sweeter for me!

I’m am the same way as you - I stress about everything. I want everything to be so perfect, and I worry about it until it’s over. And then I worry about the next thing to come along… Ty says I’m one big worry-wart.

Rich says I’m not happy unless I have something to worry about. I think he’s mostly right.

For the most part I’m a go with the flow kind of person…but like you when things are stressful, it tends to build up in my shoulders–George always comments on how tense and knotted up my shoulders are. Funny. I’m definitely not a worrier though…I’d much rather make a decision and get things over with than to fret about it for long, which isn’t always a good thing.

That flower is great! I’m sure it’ll be a happily-received gift.

You did a great job on your flower gift. I was just wishing I could be there to watch you create something, to see how you work and how you love it. I guess I miss my sister and need to make more time to check up on her. I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday. Please know you’ll be missed =)
